Hello, I'm Jasmine.

 

I'm a nice young lady, but I'm awfully sad.

 

You see, I'm chained out in my yard all the time.

You can guess what happened next.

I gave birth to 13 puppies. Unfortunately, since I am so young myself, I don't really know how to take care of them.

 

Because of that and also the heavy chain that got in the way, 5 of them didn't make it.

 

With millions of animals euthanised each year, I worry about what will happen to them.

 

 

One day, a wonderful woman named Amanda brought a bunch of people to help us all out.

She told me that they would make it safe for me and for my pups.

 

First, they put up a big pen for the puppies.
This way, I can get to know them
and learn how to be a good mom.

 

Then they got to work putting up a special fence, just for me!

They seemed to enjoy working outside ...

 

And when it was all done,
well, you can see how excited I was!

 

I remembered what it was like
to be a young pup again!

 

For now, my pups and I will get to know each other across this little fence.

 

And we'll take turns in the "big yard" for play.

Now I can get love from my neighbors, too!

I'm a happy dog now, but there are so many others who don't know what it's like to run and play.
